Turbomed Extension Stopper Kit – Accessory for XTERN Drop Foot Brace

The Turbomed Extension Stopper Kit is a separately available accessory for the Turbomed XTERN Summit, Classic+ and the Frontier EVO drop foot brace. This kit adds extra stiffness to the brace and is ideal for knee hyperextension, spasticity, calf muscle weakness, or a heavy gait pattern, for example caused by a heavy foot or shoe.

Thanks to the added stiffness, the movement of the brace during foot strike is physically limited. This prevents the brace from bending too much, resulting in increased control and stability with every step. The kit effectively helps prevent knee hyperextension (backward locking of the knee) and reduces the “foot slap” effect the uncontrolled lowering of the forefoot after heel strike. Especially in neurological or muscle-related conditions such as drop foot or spasticity, this additional support is of great value for a stable and confident gait.

The kit includes two mechanical stoppers with hook-and-loop fasteners, which are easy to attach to the brace. They limit plantar flexion at heel strike, making the gait pattern smoother and safer.

Size advice

The correct size depends on the size of your XTERN EVO. Choose 40 mm for size S, or 45 mm for size M or L.

Please note: this is a standalone accessory and is supplied without a foot drop brace. The Turbomed XTERN Summit and Classic+ foot drop braces are available separately.
