Stoma

A stoma is a surgically created opening that allows the bowel or urinary tract to pass through the abdominal wall to the outside of the body. Every year, thousands of people receive a stoma as a result of a medical condition, surgery, or disease. Although a stoma can greatly improve quality of life and independence, it may also lead to discomfort or weakness around the abdominal wall. Supportive products such as stoma support belts and abdominal binders can provide additional support during everyday activities, work, and sports.
