Wrist braces and wrist splints have been used effectively for years in Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS)
People who suffer from Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) often have a lot of pain and are sometimes very limited in their daily functioning. Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is caused by a pinching of a nerve. This nerve runs in the center of the arm / wrist (median) and passes through a passage called the carpal tunnel. The passage is formed by the carpal bones and a tendon plate between the mouse of the little finger and thumb. When the passage is too narrow for this nerve, it sometimes wants to be pinched. This hurts! Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) is a regular occurrence in pregnant women. Pregnant women often retain more fluid, which can cause increased pressure on the nerve in the wrist. Wrist brace for a fracture (fracture) or bruising of the wrist
We speak of a fracture when a bone is broken. The severity of the fracture can range from a single fracture to crushing. In all cases there will be swelling and you will be severely hindered in daily functioning. With a wrist fracture, there is a fracture of the ulna, the radial bone or both bones in the wrist region. Sometimes it is only a tear in the bone, but often there is displacement of the loose bone pieces. When damage to the bone has occurred, there is always injury to the so-called soft tissues, such as tendons, muscles and possibly vessels and nerves. In many cases, the fracture will be treated with a plaster cast. How many weeks you have to walk with the cast depends on the severity of the fracture. In general, this period will last between 2 to 6 weeks. Is the break not set? Then you wear a brace that you generally have to wear for 3-6 weeks. You only take this off while sleeping and showering.

Braces are used for various tendon infections of the wrist and tendon irritation. In Quervain, the tendons of the extensor muscle of the thumb and wrist are inflamed / irritated, with the side of the wrist (thumb side) and the entire top of the thumb being painful. Redness and swelling can occur in and around the inflamed area. This area needs rest in order to recover properly.
