For the fastest and best results, it is important to wear the brace as much as possible, preferably 23 out of 24 hours per day. The brace may be removed during sports, showering, or swimming. The total treatment duration until complete correction of your chest depends on the stiffness or flexibility of your pectus carinatum. This total treatment duration varies from 6 to 24 months. Then use the size chart below to determine the correct size. If in doubt between two sizes, we recommend choosing the smaller size, as the brace has a relatively wide fit.

Please note: Back width is the most important measurement for determining the correct size.

A reliable method for measuring the back width is to place two objects, such as books, under the child’s armpits at shoulder blade level and ask the child to press their arms firmly against the books. The correct back width is the distance between the inner sides of the books. This method provides consistent and accurate results.

We therefore recommend measuring the back width in this way to ensure the correct size selection. Additionally, measure the chest circumference at armpit level.

Note: The brace cannot be used in sports involving physical contact, where collisions may cause damage due to the aluminum parts. Its use is also temporarily discouraged during severe colds or breathing difficulties.
