The Thuasne Ortel Inguinal Hernia Belt is a comfortable and effective support belt for inguinal hernia (hernia inguinalis), suitable for use on the left side, right side, or both sides simultaneously. This updated version comes in a stylish black color and features a simple Velcro closure instead of a buckle, offering greater ease of use and a better fit.

How to Measure
To determine the correct size, measure the circumference of your hips. Then consult the table below to find the recommended size.

Instructions for Use
The hernia belt is delivered in the bilateral configuration (1). For a unilateral hernia, the belt can be adjusted for use on the right or left side (2).
- Right side: Keep the thigh straps in place and remove the left pad.
- Left side: Keep the thigh straps in place and remove the right pad.

Wearing Instructions
1. Reduce the hernia before putting on the belt. Preferably lie on your back and gently massage the hernia back into place. 2. Adjust the belt to your hip circumference by positioning the closure correctly. Ⓑ The belt should fit snugly without pinching. 3. Position the straps under the thighs and adjust their length. Ⓒ 4. While standing upright, check the pad’s position. Adjust the tension if necessary for optimal comfort and effectiveness.
Washing Instructions and Maintenance
Before washing the Thuasne Ortel Inguinal Hernia Belt, be sure to remove the inserts from the pads. Fasten all Velcro closures and preferably wash the belt in a laundry bag on a gentle 40 °C cycle. The product has been tested for up to 20 wash cycles, which corresponds to an average of once per month. Avoid steam cleaning, solvents, softeners, or aggressive substances such as chlorine. Do not tumble dry or place near heat sources like radiators or direct sunlight. Let the belt air dry flat to maintain its shape and functionality.
