Thuasne Buddy Finger Splint – Buddy Loop for an injured finger
Do you have a sprained, bruised or injured finger that needs extra support? The Thuasne Buddy Finger Splint, also known as the Buddy Loop, supports the finger according to the principle of buddy taping. The injured finger is linked to the neighbouring healthy finger. This healthy finger acts as a natural support, helping to limit unwanted movement without fully immobilising the injured finger.
The Thuasne Buddy Loop is a practical and reusable alternative to traditional buddy taping with sports tape. Instead of adhesive tape, you use adjustable straps that can easily be removed and reapplied. This helps prevent adhesive residue and reduces the risk of skin irritation caused by sports tape. The soft separator between the fingers also helps reduce friction and contributes to a comfortable fit during daily activities and sports.
The package contains 2 sets. Each set consists of one wide and one narrow Buddy Loop, allowing you to adapt the support to the finger and the location of the injury.
How does the Thuasne Buddy Loop Finger Splint work?
Place the Buddy Loop around the injured finger and the neighbouring healthy finger. The healthy finger then provides additional support and helps limit sideways and unwanted movement of the injured finger.
Unlike a rigid finger splint, some freedom of movement is retained. This means the finger is supported and protected without being fully immobilised. This makes the buddy finger splint suitable for situations where controlled movement is possible or desirable.
The Thuasne Buddy Finger Splint is bilateral and can be used on both the left and right hand. Thanks to the adjustable Velcro fastening, the Buddy Loop can be used on different fingers.
Buddy taping without sports tape
With traditional buddy taping, two fingers are secured together with sports tape. The Thuasne Buddy Loop works on the same principle but uses adjustable and reusable straps.
This offers several advantages:
- No adhesive layer or sticky residue on the skin
- Easy to remove and reapply
- Adjustable tension around the fingers
- Soft separator between both fingers
- Suitable for repeated use
- Practical during daily activities and sports
This makes the Thuasne Buddy Finger Splint a comfortable alternative when you want to use buddy taping regularly.
