This thin and comfortable thumb brace is equipped with a thermoplastic moldable stay. This means that the stay can be easily molded by anyone to perfectly fit the shape and needs of your thumb! The unique feature of this stay is that it can be shaped to the correct fit at low temperatures. The thermoplastic reinforcement becomes soft and moldable when heated in a warm water bath and retains its new shape once it cools. This feature allows the brace to be customized to the shape of the wearer’s thumb for an optimal fit and support. How to Customize the Bodyvine Thermoplastic Thumb Brace

Thanks to the thermoplastic moldable material, the thumb brace is individually adjustable to fit your thumb and wrist size. The sports thumb brace can be worn on both the left and right hand.

1. Heat water to a temperature of at least 60°C. This can be done by boiling water and then allowing it to cool slightly to the desired temperature.
2. Submerge the thermoplastic brace in the hot water. Ensure the brace is fully covered and leave it in for a few minutes to soften.
3. Carefully remove the brace from the hot water using tongs or another suitable tool to avoid burns.
4. Shake off any excess water and place the thumb brace on the wearer’s thumb.
5. Mold the thumb brace carefully around the thumb while the material is still soft and pliable. Adjust the brace to create a comfortable and supportive fit. For optimal usability, make a circle by touching your thumb and index finger together (OK sign).
6. Allow the thumb brace to cool and harden on the thumb. This may take a few minutes depending on the ambient temperature.
7. Check the fit and, if necessary, adjust again before the brace is fully hardened. Or, submerge the brace in hot water again if the fit is not to your liking and start the process over.

Tips

• Close the Velcro straps after use to prevent excessive wear.
• Wash the brace by hand or in a laundry bag or pillowcase on a delicate cycle, and air dry (do not spin dry!).
