Bauerfeind

Bauerfeind, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of medical devices. The family business is globally active and has been developing their products, technologies and manufacturing techniques for several decades. The result is patented and award-winning products and services, all under the motto “Made in Germany”.

History Bauerfeind

The family business Bauerfeind was founded in 1929 by Bruno Bauerfeind. It is a special company for the production of therapeutic compression stockings. Until his death in 1944, he headed the company. After 10 years in 1939, 100 employees were employed by Firma bauerfeind. In 1945 Rudolf Bauerfeind (the son of founder Bruno) returns from Russian captivity and continues the business of his (deceased) father.

In 1972, the current owner Hans B. Bauerfeind takes over the company from his father Rudolf. Under his leadership, the company expands into a successful international company with over 1,800 employees and 15 subsidiaries in various countries. Thanks to its own distribution center, products can be delivered quickly and efficiently all over the world.

A partner program has been set up since 2007, to ensure that there is sufficient knowledge in the selected points of sale to be able to provide Bauerfeind users with the right advice and comprehensive service.

Bauerfeind braces and bandages

In 1981 the first GenuTrain was launched by Bauerfeind. This is the first nearby bandage in the world with a silicone pad to provide extra support to the knee. In the 30 years since, the GenuTrain knee brace has been redesigned and improved six times. But more importantly, the GenuTrain enabled a whole new range of woven bandages and braces to be made, such as:

OmoTrain
Achillotrain
Epitrain

All elastic bandages with a viscoelastic pad to give compression, support and proprioception to the painful joint. These products are used by doctors and physiotherapists for precision, to support the healing process after an injury and as therapy for certain specific (and sometimes chronic) complaints.

As “Co Partner Deutschland”, Bauerfeind has been an official supplier to the German Olympic teams since 2001 and has since then offered orthopedic technical services during the Olympic Games and in the intervening years.
